Continuing on Contentment

Now that I have been home for a bit it has been easier to keep in touch with a visit or phone call. It has been a blessing for me to see or talk to many of you on a more regular basis. For this I am thankful.

Many of you have expressed an appreciation for the blog updates so I will continue to keep them up. I hope to continue my studies on CONTENTMENT and share some of what I learn with you. After my last surgery I received a book as a gift from a good friend and mentor.

The book is called Calm My Anxious Heart and is written by Linda Dillow and includes a bible study.

I have already read several chapters and I am excited to share some of the wisdom that Linda gives on the topic of contentment. I hope to work through the bible study and share some of my struggles, as a Christian and in my present circumstances, in finding true contentment. My intention is not for this to be about me, rather a testimony to God’s steadfast faithfulness, unfailing love, enduring mercy and abundant grace.

Linda works on the premise that memorizing and meditating on God’s Word are the best ways to place His Word in you heart and mind. Each lesson includes verses that we can commit to memory that will reveal more about God, Himself, and help us make changes in our daily lives. I am not the greatest at memorizing but I look foward to being held accountable to doing this study by sharing it with others.

I am making scripture cards that can be printed on 4x6 photo paper and hung on your fridge, put into a little photo album that you can tuck in your purse or keep by your bedside. I will make those available to you as we go along. All you will have to do is click on the link and it will bring you to a media sharing file where you can download the image.

Much of what I write will be paraphrasing what Linda has written in the different chapters of her book.

So, let’s begin the journey!
